Canberra

Canberra, the capital of Australia, is a place where people have always gathered. Even the name is appropriate, being the Aboriginal word for ‘meeting place’. Canberra is home to the national parliament, major national institutions and host to numerous national and international events. The location was democratically chosen by the people of Australia and is the only ‘planned’ city of Australia. This advantage has allowed Canberra to carefully design its development of world-class facilities and national attractions to live in harmony with the bush land environment. This is considered by many to be its greatest charm.
